  • Cluster management / server administration
  • Distributed computing / software scaling towards grid engines
  • Monitoring / work load surveillance of our HPCs
Expertise required:
  • Accessing servers and developing/maintaining analysis pipelines via bash and docker are a must.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or R for pipeline and web application development as well as big data analysis
  • Interest in life science data science including gene expression and microbiome data analysis is a plus
  • Knowledge in statistical methods in the context of biological systems is a plus
We offer:
  • The successful candidate will be hosted in the research group Systems Biology and Bioinformatics of Prof. Dr. Gianni Panagiotou of the Leibniz-HKI in an international, dynamic team, with access to state-of-the-art computational resources.
  • SBI is currently coordinating the BMBF funded consortium PERMICCION and is an active participant of the Cluster of Excellence “Balance of the Microverse” (www.microverse-cluster.de) and the CRC/Transregio 124 “Pathogenic fungi and their human host: Networks of interaction”
(www.funginet.de) funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.
  • We offer an international and multidisciplinary environment with a strong expertise in the proposed research field. Currently the group consists of approximately 15 members at different levels of seniority.
